NDMA’s Executive Director Follows up Status of Gas Explsion Victims; Visits JFK Memorial Hospital
(September 18, 2025; Monrovia, Liberia): NDMA’s Executive Director Hon. Atty. Ansu V. S. Dulleh Sr. visits John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital to follow up with doctors and nurses on the current conditions of victims of the MIRA Gas Company’s oxygen tank explosion, in which there has been one death and several injured persons who are currently admitted at the JFK Memorial Hospital and being treated for serious injuries sustained from the disaster.
It is important for the Head of the National Disaster Management Agency to visit victims of disasters admitted in hospital because such visit shows empathy, compassion, and leadership. Victims often feel abandoned and hopeless, but seeing the Head of the NDMA assures them that their suffering is recognized and that help is being organized. These visits also build trust between the community and the government, while giving the leaders firsthand knowledge of victims’ needs.
Moreover, the presence of Hon. Dulleh at the hospital motivates health workers and encourages relief efforts by showing solidarity. Overall, it demonstrates accountability, commitment, and a human-centered approach to disaster management. Well done, Hon. Dulleh.
